TOPIC:  National Day of Prayer Observance


There will be a Community Observance of the National Day of Prayer held at Second Baptist Church, 720 West 7th Street, Hopkinsville, at 12:00 noon on Thursday, May 5th.  The service of approximately 45 minutes will feature special music, and local pastors and community leaders will lead in prayer for our government, military, schools, families, and churches.  A sack lunch will be provided at the close of the service.  The public is invited to come and join in prayer for our nation.

TOPIC:  Jesus Spring Fling Thing

TOPIC:  Saturday Morning Bird Walks


The Little River Audubon chapter announces the 2nd annual “Saturday Morning Bird Walks on the Rail Trail” to be held on Saturday, April 30 at 9 a.m. and Saturday, May 14 at 8 a.m.  The Walks will begin at the North Drive Parking Lot of the Rail Trail.  Members of Little River Audubon chapter will lead the walks and will have binoculars available to loan to the first 10 participants.  The goal is to help participants spot and identify both local birds and migrating spring birds.  Early May is the peak of spring bird migration.  The Walks are free and open to the public.  Each Walk will last approximately two hours, but participants may exit the Walk at any time.  To register or for more information call 270-886-8078 or email

Clear your calendar for Friday, April 29 through Sunday, May 1.  Dr. Don McCutcheon, former NC Baptist Evangelism Director, will be leading First Baptist Church, 1400 South Main St, Hopkinsville, in a series of services reminding all of God’s grace and plan for their lives.  Friday there will be a churchwide meal in the Fellowship Hall at 5 p.m., and the service at 6 p.m.  Saturday at 4:30 p.m. there will be pizza and games for students grades 6-12 in the Fellowship Hall, and the service at 6 p.m., and Sunday, May 1 there will be a Men’s Breakfast in the Fellowship Hall at 8 a.m., pizza and games for K-5th grades at 4:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall, and the service at 6 p.m.  For information call 270-886-1216.

TOPIC:  Branch Outreach 5K Run/Walk


Branch Outreach 5th Annual 5K Run/Walk will be Saturday, May 21 at 8:30 a.m., with registration from 7-8 a.m. on race day, at Crofton Gordon Park, 13712 N.
