Faith Family Ministries, at 105 Walter Garrett Lane in Oak Grove, KY, invites you to come and hear Chad Williams, former U.S. Navy Seal.  This event will be held on Sunday, July 27th, at the 10:30 a.m. service.  A professional skateboarder from California, Chad wanted more in life and became a U.S. Navy Seal.  He was a friend of and was mentored by Navy Seal, Scott Helvenston, who was murdered and dragged through the streets of Iraq.  Chad is the author of the book, Seal of God,  and has been featured on Fox, CNN, and “The 700 Club”.  For more information, call Pastor Dan Hunt at 270-498-6099.

Topic:  Macedonia Baptist Church-Homecoming

Topic:  “10 Days of Prayer for Marriage”

 

On Wednesday August 6th, the Federal 6th Circuit Court of Appeals (a three-judge panel) will hear oral arguments on the 2004 KY Marriage Protection Amendment, which was recently stricken by a Federal District Judge.  The KY Family Foundation is calling upon the Body of Christ to “10 Days of Prayer for Marriage” Sunday, July 27th, through Wednesday, August 6th.  Michigan, Ohio, and Tennessee are also in the same Federal 6th Circuit Court of Appeals.  Brief topical prayers via e-mail from the KY Family Foundation will be offered daily to aid in your 10 days of prayer.  Contact kent@kentuckyfamily.org to be a part of this special project.  Consider II Chronicles 7:14 and join in this prayer effort.

Topic:  “Back to School Bash”

 

The Hopkinsville Community Friends will host the 3rd annual “Back to School Bash” for children in grades K-12.  It will be held Saturday, August 9th, at 1:00 p.m. at Ruff Park.  The day will include free food, games and prizes, and school supplies will be given away.

 

The Hopkinsville Community Friends are seeking donations, such as: school supplies, water, juice and soda, hot dogs and buns, napkins, plates, and individual bags of chips.  For more information, please contact Rose Jackson at 270-987-2295.

Topic:  “Still Water” – 20th Anniversary Concert

 

It’s not too early to mark your calendar and plan to attend the 20th Anniversary Concert of the Gospel quartet, “Still Water”.  The concert will be held at Hillcrest Baptist Church, 920 Skyline Dr. in Hopkinsville, on Friday, September 19th, at 7:00 p.m.  There will also be surprise appearances by former members!

Topic:  2014 Black Patch Beauty Pageant

 

The Caldwell County Historical Society’s 2014 Black Patch Beauty Pageant is the major fundraiser for maintaining the Dr. Amoss House in Cobb, KY.  Applications are now being accepted for girls ages 8-12 and 13-15.  The pageant will be held Saturday, August 9th, at 7:00 p.m. in the Butler auditorium, in Princeton, KY.  The rehearsal is Friday, August 8th, at 6:00 p.m.  The contest is open to Caldwell and surrounding counties.  The entry fee is $40 and the deadline for entry is Friday, August 1st.  The pageant is limited to 25 in each age group.  For more information, call Bonnie Holloway at 270-365-9813.  Applications are at Ziobro’s and the Farmer’s Bank in Princeton.

The Celebrate Recovery Ministry meets on Friday nights at 7:00 p.m. at Grace Church of the Nazarene.  This Church is located at 3135 Trenton Road in Clarksville, TN, at exit one off of I-24.  All who are interested are invited.

Topic:  Youth Activities at Trinity Baptist Church
 
Trinity Baptist Church, located at 3900 Lafayette Road in Hopkinsville, will have the following upcoming youth events:
 
Vacation Bible School carnival games on July 13th from 5:00 p.m.  until 6:30 p.m. in the back parking lot of the Church.  Vacation Bible School will be held on Saturday, July 19th, from 8:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., at the church.
Trinity Baptist Church will also have an AWANA kickoff on August 24th from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. and AWANA begins September 7th from 5:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. at the Church.

Topic:  Full-Length Feature Films Outdoors

 

The City of Hopkinsville’s Division of Parks and Recreation will again present full-length feature films outdoors.  Admission is free. Cold drinks and popcorn may be purchased and comfort stations will be on site.  All showings begin at dusk.  All films are rated G or PG and will be shown on July 11th, Aug. 8th, and Sept. 12th at Westside Park.  Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy.

Topic:  School of Ministry

 

The Tabernacle is starting a school of ministry in August, called “The Tabernacle Ministry Equipping Center”.  It is a school covered by Global University, called Berean School of the Bible.  This is for ages 16 and older desiring either to be credentialed by the Assemblies of God or wanting to grow more in the Word of God.  Classes will be held on Monday nights from 6:00 until 9:00 at the Clarksville campus at 1020 Garrettsburg Road in Clarksville, TN.  Applications are due by June 30, 2014, and a deposit of $689.33 is due by July 30th.  The cost of the school is $1240 and classes start August 11th. Pastor Sam Goff is “The Tabernacle Ministry Equipping Center” director.

Topic:  Missionary Work for Challenge House

Topic:  The Lily Pad

 

The Lily Pad at Easter Seals, Western KY, is now open and accepting medical referrals.  The new medically-based program is the first of its kind in our region of Western Kentucky.  The program is Medicaid-based, but also accepts private insurance.  It gives family members or other caregivers of medically fragile children the ability to work or attend school during the hours the children are enrolled.  Please visit their website at www.eswky.easterseals.com or call (270) 444-9687 for additional information.
